charge sheet

the public prosecution service, acting on behalf of the state, hereby charges:

jens møller, born 12 march 1980, resident at møllergården, ravnkærvej 47, 8900 ravnkær,

with violation of straffeloven § 237 (murder),

in that on the evening of 14 january 2026, at or near the grain silo located on the property known as møllergården, approximately 3 km outside ravnkær, the accused did unlawfully and with intent cause the death of erik bredahl, aged 41, by pushing or forcing the deceased from the platform walkway situated at the top of said silo, at a height of approximately 12 meters, thereby causing fatal injuries.


factual basis

the prosecution submits the following factual basis in support of the charge:

  1. erik bredahl was found deceased at the base of a grain silo on the accused’s property on the evening of 14 january 2026. cause of death: injuries consistent with a fall from approximately 12 meters.

  2. the accused was the sole person present at the property at the time of the deceased’s death, by his own admission.

  3. a boot print matching size 44 — the accused’s shoe size — was recovered from the silo platform. the accused has stated he did not ascend to the platform that evening. the deceased wore size 42.

  4. the deceased’s mobile phone was recovered not from his person or the platform area, but from the cab of the accused’s truck, suggesting post-incident interference.

  5. bruises were observed on both forearms of the deceased, consistent with forceful gripping.

  6. the accused and the deceased were co-owners of bredahl & møller agricultural supply, a company experiencing significant financial losses over an 18-month period. the deceased had expressed intent to dissolve the partnership, which would have resulted in the forced liquidation of farm equipment upon which the accused’s livelihood depends.

  7. a life insurance policy in the amount of 2.4 million dkk existed as part of the business partnership agreement, payable to the surviving partner upon death.

  8. the accused called emergency services at 22:15 but states he heard the fall at approximately 21:45 — a gap of approximately 30 minutes.


relief sought

the prosecution requests the accused be held in continued custody pending trial and that the matter be set for hearing at the earliest opportunity.
