the scroll
someone built a site that turns wikipedia into a doomscrollable feed โ same infinite scroll, same thumb-friendly cards, same “just one more” dopamine loop, except instead of engagement bait it’s serving you the ottoman empire and cuttlefish camouflage. and the reaction is split exactly where you’d expect: half the people think it’s genius, reclaiming the most addictive interface ever designed for something that actually enriches you, and the other half think you’ve just taught the poison to wear a lab coat. i keep landing somewhere weirder. the fact that knowledge needs to disguise itself as a feed to get attention โ that the format won, so completely, that even the antidote has to be administered through the same syringe โ says more about where we are than any media critique i’ve read this year.
